Experience Movies Like Never Before
The DMP-BD65 employs the PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus. Developed in collaboration with Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory, this high image processing technology reproduces clear, vivid colors that are faithful to the original film. Panasonic's Blu-ray Disc players employ high precision 4:4:4 signal technology, which working in tandem with PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus processes each pixel of the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the horizontal direction to compliment vertical direction processing. P4HD (Pixel Precision Progressive Processing for HD) is another technology that contributes to the superior picture quality of the Blu-ray players. P4HD processes more than 15 billion pixels per second and applies the optimal processing to every pixel.
Panasonic's Blu-ray Disc players further utilize 16-level motion detection to categorize the image motion of each pixel into one of 16 levels; diagonal processing to detect diagonals and correct the pixels accordingly; 1080p up-conversion to up-convert content recorded in the 480i/p or 720p format to 1080p.
This Blu-ray Disc player also provides 1080/24p output, reproducing cinema images from a Blu-ray Disc and DVD in their original 24p form with no need for conversion--enabling you to enjoy cinema images in the same format used in cinema with a 1080/24p-compatible TV.
Complimenting the HD audio codecs, the BD65 Blu-ray Disc player features 96kHz surround re-master, a function that enhances the sound quality of CDs and other sources, and even improves the quality of the multi-channel audio data on Blu-ray Discs and DVDs.

"Works great with Netflix" 2010-08-24
By

I bought this to use with Netflix and it works perfect. We have a small apartment so my modem and TV are next to each other and I am able to stream movies directly from my modem to the player with an ethernet cable. I have not actually put a DVD into the player yet so I have no idea how that feature works.
"Why Did I Take So Long To Buy It??" 2010-08-23

I love this Blu-Ray player. My favorite feature is connecting it directly to the internet to watch Netflix movies. I have had no problems with streaming movies to it. I also enjoy some of the other Viera features as well, such as Pandora. My whole family loves this player and it is already radically changing our movie/tv watching habits. HD blows everything else away. My husband even joked "this saved our marriage." The only thing I would suggest that they improve is the remote. It isn't impossible to figure out the basics, but it isn't the most user friendly thing ever. It takes some getting used to that is for sure. For the price, it is certainly an awesome deal!
"Very Good Blu-Ray player." 2010-08-22

I bought this to replace a Panasonic DMP-BD30. I was very happy with the BD30...good picture, fast load time. However, the BD65 is far superior! First movie I tested - opening scene from Mamma Mia...with the waves behind and beside the boat...the oversaturated colors and underexposed night...it took my breath away it was so real. And I've seen the movie many times on the same setup. And this was in the daytime in a very bright room!
I was surprised. The difference was apparent immediately. This is a Very Good Blu-Ray player.
Load time is faster than the BD30, which was already fast.

This is my first blue ray player. I am pleased with my purchase. It does everything that I thought it would do. I have had it for about one month. So far it has been a good experience. I have it connected by a wire to my home net work and enjoy the netcast feature, you can view youtube and get movies streamed via the internet. I only have a 1.5 MB internet connection so I do not try to view HD movies over the net. You may need a faster internet connection if you want to get HD movies streamed to you. I would recommend the player.
