Customer Reviews
My $350 Samsung BD player died i was looking for an affordable alternative that can additionally play some apps like picasa, netflix, pandora and so on. In my search I uncovered Vizio model 122. I actually liked the features along with the price tag but in that case VBR133 has 3D functionality and that was pretty enticing, although I dont have a 3D television for computer yet.
Since Bluray has developed in the market for a when my expectations from virtually any player were high.
Key elements for a BDPlayer -
- Really should load and play blurays quick and rapid
- Video and Audio quality should be very beneficial
- Must play apps including Netflix, Amazon, Picasa, Smash, Pandora and more
- Needs to have a HDMI connection
- Remote control should be easy to work with and work from a good range (distance, left and righ angles)
- Must have chance to connect to internet (ethernet or wireless)
- Should have a USB port in order to plug in a thumb drive
- Must play jpegs, audio and other video files
This player, through the outer looks, is basic and non-flattering. But once I powered it on that it was only a matter involving seconds that it seemed to be ready.
I have a strong ethernet-to-wireless adaptor. Plugged the ethernet cable tv behind the BDplayer and within seconds it linked with Internet.
Firmware upgrades were automatic (it asks if you need to apply them) and that they completed within 5 minutes. Very smooth operation.
The principle menu for the gamer was very easy in order to navigate and setting were easy and self-explanatory.
I put inside of a Bluray and the computer loaded quickly (compared to the Samsung player I experienced earlier which was theoretically among the fastest in order to load disks). I played out different blurays and many worked just fine. Delighted with this.
What blew my mind seemed to be the quality of the graphic rendered. The video ended up being smooth, flawless, vibrant plus more detailed that any alternative player I have seen or used so significantly. TV settings remaining the same, the quality of online video media from this player ended up being much better than some other bluray players I currently have plugged in.
Audio is definitely smooth, in-sync while using the video and flawless.
Forwards, reverse on blurays can be quick, responsive and pretty fluid.
I connected so that you can Netflix and it pulled apart my instant list and various suggestions, genres etc. Driving it was easy. Playback was smooth. Audio and Video were in sync. Forward and reverse proved helpful smoothly. Again the video quality of Netflix ended up being better than other avid gamers.
I played Friends DVD in it and has been surprised to see the advance in video quality through regular DVD player and also other bluray player. A DVD was upconverted. Despite the fact that I could still find out the difference in top quality compared to BD, I had been still very very happy with the up-conversion good quality.
Have not tested the actual 3D capability yet.
The remote worked from 40 feet distance and from a wide angles (left-suitable). Design of remote is very simple and sleek. I like smaller buttons. Some persons prefer larger buttons. They will often not like the rural. But then one can invariably setup a universal remote control to replace this just one.
In brief, I don't have anything but praise for this player. Time will notify how long it last. I'll post my comments after a few months.
