I purchaed the 690 from Amazon many weeks ago. I received them on time and hooked on it it up quickly. I am just using 1.4 High-definition multimedia interface to my Panasonic 50GT25 and optical to be able to my Yamaha receiver for 5.1 sound. It up-to-date flawessly, wirelessly with your Netgear dual band router (my router is regarding 30 feet away in another room). Connection wasn't any problem at all just simply push the button on the router and away going. It was much less fussing than my Panasonic blu ray within the other room. I performed Avatar on Blu Beam of light first and found out and about I had to visit thru the settings about the LG and place the item on pass thru to allow for it to work while using encoder on my reciever. It came placed for pcm stereo. This pass thru setting enables it to work having anything DTS, Dolby, what ever. Avatar was fantastic inside blu ray, the good was incredible just as if you were in the core jungle surrounded by creatures. I next played a DTS audio recording of your band I had which in turn my previous Sony along with Panasonic players had problems with. No sweat, great audio. That got me definitely interested in seeing just what it could do. I had a Dvd recorded of a Highwaymen live from 1990. This reissue is made in Austraila and ended up being Pal encoded for all of regions. My previous people, even one that had been all regions capable could hardly play it. Played perfectly in Dolby 5.one particular. I could find next to nothing that said it has been all regions. The merely thing I watch over the internet is Netflicks and I can actually select new shows to watch with out there going to my Computer system. My Panasonic BD100 won't allow that. I have yet to watch 3D, no a pair of glasses and I'm in not any hurry not much choice yet. One caveat, you will need to either view and see the 74 page manual with disc to understand arrange terms (like pass through) or print it view I did.
